ACTION ALERT: Support H7774 on 4/10

ACTION ALERT: $78M RIPTA Budget Appropriation (H7774) Hearing April 10

Speak up for the future of public transit in Rhode Island by submitting testimony on the watershed transit funding request of the legislative session: H7774. This landmark funding appropriation would provide the resources to make RIPTA the transit agency that Rhode Islanders deserve.

Representative Alzate’s H7774 is the budget appropriations bill of $78 million for RIPTA in order to fund the deficit, support the workers and start implementing the Transit Master Plan. Here is the breakdown:

  • $8M to close the current deficit.

  • $24M to raise driver salaries.

  • $46 million commitment to expanding service and begin to implement the Transit Master Plan.

WRITE: Lawmakers are paying attention to how much written support each bill gets. We want to mobilize as many emails as possible in support of H7774. Click here for testimony guide.

TESTIFY: To testify in person at the Statehouse, email SaveRIPTA campaign organizer Nicole O’Loughlin to coordinate!

AMPLIFY: Share this post, the testimony guide, and the need for increased transit funding with your friends, community and coworkers.
