RI Transit Riders is pleased that the RIPTA board has chosen Chris Durand to lead RIPTA. Chris has demonstrated to riders that he is willing to listen to our concerns and work with us to improve public transit for Rhode Islanders.  He has been transparent in his dealings and included us in decision-making whenever possible.  He is actively working with riders, the advocates, transit workers, legislators, and the board to promote RIPTA and find additional funding sources.  With Chris’s guidance, I think RIPTA can become one of the country’s leading transit agencies.  As several members of the board said today, he will make us all proud.

RIPTA is still a work in progress, but Chris is the right person to start making it better.
